Truckee Tahoe Airport hosted an architectural competition for their new terminal building. This design was inspired by regional lodge architecture and the National Park Architecture found at Crater Lake, Oregon. This project was designed to be a timeless gateway to the region. During the public input phase of the selection process, this design received the highest rating by a very large margin. Due mostly to budget reductions and Board politics, the airport has chosen another firm, requested a lesser scope, and has put the project on hold.
