Residential Project 981101
Inspired by the regional works of Julia Morgan on the Shilling Estate on Lake Tahoe and the clients’ respect for the French countryside, this home is truly a timeless masterwork designed and crafted to last centuries. The client traveled France to find parts and pieces to incorporate. There is too much to mention here, but the house includes an exterior of granite walls, steel frame windows, a slate and copper roof, and redwood siding. The interior has four masonry fireplaces with hand carved limestone surrounds, handcrafted black walnut doors and paneling, historic French oak timbers, planking, and trusses, limestone flooring and accents. This home has a private master wing, two bedrooms baths en suite, as well as another unique two-bedroom suite. This upstairs suite has a common sitting area, kitchenette, table area, common bathroom and two cozy cushette bedrooms. A library space behind the living room fireplace doubles as a dining room. The kitchen is a lifestyle in itself. In one corner is a cozy banquet, in another is fireplace.Collaboration:
