Residential Project 980102
Placed next to a pristine mountain meadow filled with wildlife, this rustic mountain home is spacious and comfortable. The rectilinear exterior walls create the formwork for a traditional feel while the circulation fallows the hipped roof structure rotated 45 degrees. One enters at one corner of the box and flows kitty-corner between a two-story log gateway that frames a distant mountain peak through a large picture window. The kitchen and loft above as well at the two-sided massive granite fireplace are all rotated within the larger volume to this skew axis. This home was carefully crafted to obscure the neighbors on either side of this narrow homesite. The yellow patina of aged pine create the warmth expected in a snow country home.Collaboration:
