Following the completion of an addition to this residence in Tahoe Donner, our team returned to the home to collaborate with the client to add an extra layer of interior design. While the architecture introduced views, scale, and light, the interiors called for grounding elements that would bring a sense of warmth to the newly expanded spaces.

Our approach centered on adding depth through materiality and custom detailing - our goal was to layer in, not take away. A new fireplace and built-in upholstered seating help anchor the Primary Bedroom, while a wood-clad ceiling introduces softness and warmth overhead. In the Primary Bathroom, we layered millwork, tile, dramatic mirrors, and lighting to ground the vanity area and create a more cohesive feel.
